I started a blog not too long ago because I had so many ‘cool’ ideas that I knew I wanted to share with the world. But there was one problem– I wanted to right about LITERALLY everything. I wanted to write about travel, points and miles, sports, a random thought I had about life, and then everything else. But you read anything about trying to gain readers, the one thing that remains constant is that “people go to a website to complete one task.” Hence I needed to focus my efforts on one thing–which brings us to The Layover.

More than anything, I know that world of points and miles is so lucrative, and I want to make sure my peers are benefiting from it as much as I am. I am a mid-20s millenial who just joined the workforce. My job gives me the opportunity to travel (more importantly gain miles and points!), so I believe I have a unique perspective that is not always represented on the internet. I will not be doing reviews of the first class cabin on Etihad, or will I lie and say that I pay thousands in credit card fees. The truth is I can’t. But the reason I decided to begin this blog is because that does not prohibit me from being able to travel to places I otherwise would not have been able to. I hope to share success stories of me going to amazing places (and maybe flying first class), but I also hope to bring stories from others as well.

Look forward to the stories and hopefully the many joys of travel.
